The Sylmar Neighborhood Council would like to thank Board Directors Gregory Hoerner and Diana Rodriguez for their dedicated service to the community. Mr. Horner was filling a "Renter" Seat which is now vacant. Mrs. Diana Rodriguez was filling a "Community Based Organization" Seat which is also now vacant.
Seat requirements for both seats are below
• The requirement for Renter Seat - Stakeholders who are residential tenants within the neighborhood and who are 14 years or older.
• The requirement for the Community Based Organization Seat - Stakeholders who are members or representatives of a community-based organization within the neighborhood and who are 14 years or older.
Prospective board members should be available to consistently attend our monthly General Board meeting held on the fourth Thursday of every month and participate on a committee (which also meets monthly) to make a difference in Sylmar.

What is a Stakeholder?
Stakeholders shall be defined as those who live, work or own real property in the neighborhood and also to those who declare a stake in the neighborhood as a community interest stakeholder, defined as a person who affirms a substantial and ongoing participation within the Neighborhood Council’s boundaries and who may be in a community organization such as, but not limited to, educational, non-profit and/or religious organizations.
After 60 days of the vacancy, each Seat will then become an At-Large Seat. The Seat Requirement for At-Large Seat is - Stakeholders who live, work, own property or declare a stake in the neighborhood as community interest stakeholders and who are 14 years or older.
